The Easy Shiner is Keitech’s latest soft plastic swim bait to be introduced in 2011 and is guaranteed not to disappoint.
Drawing on inspirations from their tried and tested range of Shad Impact and Swing Impact soft plastic baits, Keitech's design of the Easy Shiner can only be best described as a hybrid of both these models.
The Keitech Easy Shiner has the head and torso of the Shad Impact model and the soft paddle tail of the Swing Impact model, resulting in this hybrid inheriting all the best design aspects and attributes of each model – see below for details.

To get the best swim action out of the Easy Shiner soft plastic bait, Keitech advises rigging the lure with a #2/0 weedless offset hook and working the lure back on a slow and steady retrieve.
Keitech advises using a round type jig head with hook size #1/0 or #2/0 for such a rig. To get the best results and action out of the Easy Shiner rigged with a jig head, Keitech suggests that the lure be allowed momentarily to make contact with the sea or river bed and then retrieved slow whilst lifting and dropping the tip of the rod to get the desired action.
For fishing weedy terrain, Keitech advises using a Texas rig (i.e. running a length of leader between the main line and an offset weedless hook and weighted down with a bullet type running sinker). To get the best action out of this rig, retrieve the lure slowly whilst lifting and dropping the tip of the rod.
To get the best weighted, free swimming action from an Easy Shiner soft plastic bait, Keitech suggests using a Carolina setup (i.e. running a length of leader between a swivel and the weedless offset hook, and another length of leader between the main line and the swivel, which is weighted down by either (a) crimping a split shot onto the leader or (b) using a bullet type running sinker as depicted in the image above.
