The Daiichi Seiko Homing Split Ring Pliers are not only just functional, but is also a cleverly designed fishing tool that is ideal for the light game angler.
The jaws of these pliers are made of 1.6mm hardened SUS6 stainless steel that incorporates a PE braid cutter (that will cut up PE2.5 lines with ease) and a bent nosed split ring opener (which would comfortably open a #2 split ring that is commonly used on most light game lures up to 28 grams).
To ensure safety (particularly from being misplaced) and having it always at arms reach, the Daiichi Seiko Homing Split Ring Pliers is fastened via a retractable lanyard (hence it “Homing” description) to a salt resistant, carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) holster that can be secured to the angler’s belt via the free rotating belt clip (on the rear of the holster) or to a belt loop with the carabiner that is provided with the pliers.
To allow for maximum user dexterity, the lanyard is secured to the pliers’ handle via a movable clip that can travel freely along a grooved track found in each handle section of the pliers. This unique design will also prevent twists and kinks being introduced in the retractable lanyard with repeated use of the pliers. To suit both left and right hander’s, Daiichi Seiko have designed the clip to be removable so that it can be swapped from one handle to the other.
